Default S1 RS Turbo front tie-rod dimension required, please help!

As per title, I need to know the exact width of the special spherical joint that connects the front tie rod to the cahssis plate, this is so I can replace the joint with a high quality rosejoint with sidespacers to get the total width the same as the Ford part, can anyone help?

A spare joint would need to be measured with a digital vernier caliper , alternatively a spare corner plate could be measured where the joint locates.

Thanks,

Martin

Best going to a body shop and get the dimensions from them. Mine is on a jig now and the dimensions are used to mark datum points im sure they can help you.
Or try ZOO Motorsport as they set up geometry on S1`s

No, it's not the length, I have that, it's just the width of the standard joint on the end of the tie rod, ie the bit that gets clamped between the brakets which are part of the cast steel corner plate.

Thanks,

Martin

Martin,

Tony has asked me to get this measurement for you. I will do it tomorrow afternoon and e-mail it across..... I have a spare joint and a car to measure for you.

On another note, How are my coilovers getting on?

Thanks Daz,

Appreciate that. Coilovers coming on well, I now have the special "laser cut" flanges for the rear strut body, that was causing a big delay.

Using my vernier calipers, the gap between the 2 lugs is 40.01mm and the tie rod end joint is 39.93mm....
