What exactly was wrong with the Magnex in your case? Never had a problem with mine and I've had a couple.

I have a S2 with a 3 inch tail pipe magnex exhaust system and i can honestly say the sound crap as in crap. I get a nasty whistling noise when i nail it which people think that the back wheels are wheel spinning and would 100% think mongoose are the best systems. I also have a flexi pipe in my magnex system which sounds nasty at around 3000rpm in neutral. Scorpion would have to be next best

I have a scorpion and it sounds far better than my mates mongoose. It also fits better - his tailpipe dosen't exit the rear bumper quite right, mine sits perfect.

Had a scorpion but Ahmed said it was restricting the engine,so went to Haywood and Scott and got one made with large internals ,sounds wicked,Haywood and Scott made the exhausts for the rs200s.

having experience with all 3....

i thought the scorpion has poor build quality & heard also heard they are too restrictive.

have a 4" mongoose on mine & its perfect apart from the fact you need major ICE to drown it out on motorway driving!!

the 3" magnex on the S2 sounds the nuts on full boost & can also idle nice and quiet when you want it to.

depends what your after - i chose mongoose cos i thought it was the best all rounder at the time!

I have a mongoose,

Here is a vid to show you what the noise is like:

Clicky!

Taken at the Ford Fair.

A little bit noisy to be honest. However very free flowing, and well made.

using crap descriptive words ....

i would say the scorpion is more raspy and the mongoose is more of a deep boom if you know what i mean!

but - ive heard the escort with the scorpion on from about 3 miles away on a quiet day - so that definitely travels! cant say the same for my mongoose!

I like my Magnex for the very sake of silence. Below 3000rpm the car is totally silent and perfect for everyday use. Then suddenly on high revs it becomes very "raspy". It never has a deep sound if that is what you're after.

I love the magnex ive got on, tis a nice subtle 3" one and is quiet at low revs! Although at the min the flexi's got a great hole in and its loud as fcuk!! PMSL!!

I would like to change the back box though, as i love the look of the 3.5" outwardly rolled!!

i love scorpians

never liked magnexs and had a few mongoose pipes and really i rate em same as scorpian but the scorp have the cool logo on the tail and written round the box so gets my vote

i would have thought you would know best tho rob, uve had more pipes on ur car that any1 i can think of (so im told)

go mad and get a 1 off mirror finish fully tig welded pipe, your car deserves it

top boy gary

every one says scorpion has poor build quality they are too restrictive what crap has any one done any back to back testing on a r/r. no they have not they just talk the same as every one elsa. best way to de resticked a zorst is to take the baffles out and i have done it on all the zorst u can. scops mongoose and magnex the worst one is magnex because it is thesize of the back box it is so small and sqaure,an other good zorst is the powers eng zorst very under rated one there but is very quite but well made. i would go with the scorpion every time because its so loud on me car i have had mongoose on mine but just did not sounded not all that.both scorpion and mongose have the same bore size on rst if u go cossie the mongoose is bigger and better and bore size is much bigger
