Default Escort MK6 starter wire... SORTED!!!

Just finishing off a Zetec turbo install into a MK6 Escort but can't find the starter signal wire in the engine bay. Anyone know the colour and where it's situated? Off the ignition switch its black with a blue tracer but can find anything amongst the plugs next to the battery that's even thick enough... Anyone???

I think it’s a black cable with a red tracer next to the battery. It has a plug on the end by the battery.

The colours you mention are exactly what I was looking for but there is a wire that colour that's really thin and doesn't become live when the switch is turned to the start position.

i'll have a look for you when im down the yard fella, i know that the wire for it is black/blue and the plug sits just inside the engine behind the brake servo, a kind of arch shaped plug. its normally tied in with the main battery leads to/from the battery.
