Default next car...

hi all, had my liscence almost a year now and been plodding about in mothers 206 during that time, and finally it has come for me to get my own car, but i dont know what to get. ive got a rough idea, my budget is upto 3k for the car, it needs to have a turbo, bit of a hot hatch. could be bit a project as well. the only main factor is insurance so nothing bonkers.

any help plz, Brad.
Ps: im looking for a broad range of manufacturers

ive basically come to the point of changing my mind that much i just need advice off other people. ive thought about diesels and changed my mind, its got to be a petrol. if i do get some thoughts on different cars i will check the insurance as im gettin put on my dads policy shouldnt be too much.

you see ive looked at plenty of fords but then start to drift off back into french territory and i dont wanna be there anymore lol.
