Default Some really cheap Cossies for sale

I tell you what guys, there are some bloody cheap Cossie for sale at the moment. The downturn is really hitting people at the moment. Just seen an absolute minter with genuine 27k on the clock and good spec for £15500. They really are taking a downturn aren't they.

Looks like they are, had mine for sale for a while and only been getting silly offers, however i have found my next car so really need to move it on. Even thought of breaking it to get the money but seems a shame to do so.

I think they just went a bit mad for a bit and have now come back down to a reasonable price. I think if people hold out for long enough the right person will pay the money. I wouldnt have another untill they came back down to something sensible!

I really want another one and when I see them like that one I've just seen I think about it, but it's costing me a lot more each month to live than it did when I had the others, so I think I might just have to settle for a nice RS Turbo for now until we know what's going to happen to the country. If I didn't have family here I'd emigrate to Canada no messing.

It would be a real shame to break it mate, it looks lovely.

Have you been tempted by any of the other offers Steve? What's the car you've found? Were you after a 3 door?

You might have something there Lee. I paid less than most of them are selling for now for both of my Escort Cossies, and they were both minters. I think the market has narrowed a lot for them now though with the price of fuel etc. And of course the new cars are just more usable, like my Mondeo, okay it's no Cossie but it's totally reliable, quick, loaded with kit and easy to live with, you can use it every day and stack loads of miles on it without it costing any more than any other normal car.

Not really Trev especially when they were offering 10K. Yes found a 3 door pick it up in 2 weeks. However if somebody were to offer a reasonable amount it would go

Oh the new cars are great Trev. We have a 07 A3 tdi s line. Its the 170bhp model and its nippy, economical, got all the extras, drives lovelly, and i think looks really nice.... BUT i dont have the slightest bit of passion for it. Theres only lindsay that cleans it! If it was left to me id take it to the kosovans to wash! No desire at all. Where as all my other cars ive spent hours cleaning on a weekend! The Rsi will get the same!

New cars a great, but only for A-B

It's just aweful at present with everything tbh, i mean even simple things like bread, milk etc have near on doubled in price in the last year or so, so if people are having to spend more on general life things then car sales will be a mare.. but maybe good for the buyer too if you get me..

I personally dont think the current state of the country is related to the price of a cosworth imo. Most people who have one or who are in the market for one, have it as a second car so if they are fortunate/lucky enough to have a £10k-£20k car as a second car, then i dont think the current price/tax increases will effect them 'that' much as i cant see people in this situation living on the edge so to speak. If they are 'living on the edge', then a cossie is not a car to have anyway imo.

The reason the prices may come down is due to people not being able or prepared to wait for the right buyer. If people that need/want a quick sale (for whatever reason) panic and lower the price drastically, then i still dont think it will be enough to effect the cossie market as a whole as most people are prepared to wait imo.

Totally agree there, new cars are practical, older cars like RS's are fun and desirable.

I wonder whether the tax increase for newer performance cars will benefit the cossie market?

I just think the reality is there aren't that many people stupid enough to pay top money for an Escort Cosworth these days. I'd love a high spec escos but when you see something like M600 BHP going for 28k I think how in the hell could I ever justify buying that over anything else you could have for 28k.

I think saff's are more likely to sell, they're becoming rare too, still awesome bang for buck and I just can't see how escorts would be worth a 10k+ premium over one...
