A mate has a very early E reg saff, and wants to fit 4x4 rear lights. However, has had trouble as the number plate panel doesnt fit.
Never noticed but my G reg 2WD saff has different shaped rear panel.
How do people get round this?!
Cheers

Any pics? Did you fit it?
They are defo different, very different in fact. Early ones have a strighter smoother line, late ones have a much more angled lines.

E reg does not have one as std anyway.
My F reg had one, but soon slung it in the bin, and the chavvy 4wd tinted lights.
My panel fitted perfectly with no mods at all, was just held on with super sticky body tape, no holes anywhere.

There are two different shape rear panels on the Sapphire - the early ones have a slant under the number plate, and later panels have a 'lip'.
I pulled the captive bolts out of my number plate panel when I had it fitted as I didn't fancy punching holes in my rear panel. The number plate bolts held it on, but double sided advhesive foam would be better.

did he fit them from a hatch?
if so they have different panels and lights that sit at funny angles
very tricky to spot unless they are side by side but someone did put up a pic of them to show the differences on the lights
