Default blue smoke on cossie

ok need some things to check

as the car has started to smoke, but its only when you give it some in 1st or 2nd or when your crusing down the road and when yu pull up theres a big cloud of blue smoke that comes over the car

i carnt seem to find whats causig it, ive took the turbo off to have a look and looked in the ex ports and its all dry no wet atches anywhere to say its rings or something

turbo is fine or it would do it constantly id imagine

so im a bit stuck now

could a blocked breather cause this?

it started 3 days after i fitted a new turbo

surely the turbo would do it constantly on tickover aswell

well all exhaust ports are dry, but just stuck me head in the bay and had a quick look inside the ports, and on port 1 one of the guides has a bit of oil round it

so it could be a dodgy stem seal or the valve guide is leaking which i can live with as i dont mind taking the head off for that

even though ive just had them all done

im just going to double check first, but it does smoke quite a bit when i pull up and give it some, im unsure in other gears as its hard to see, and its mainly at night when a car is behind me i see the full extent of the smoke, but 3 rd gear theres no cars behind

if its turbo im just gona send it into turbo technics

but yes im on my 3rd turbo in 3000 miles

im just putting it all back together now, gona start it up as my breather is breathing heavy aswell, so gona disconnect the pipes to see where its from, if its cam cover im gona block it up, and im gona remove the kidney box aswell

will give it an oil change this week aswell, even though i havnt done 400 miles yet, but its burning it within a week

the car is really annoying me lol, and if i carnt sort it its going and im going to get something reliable

staffi, next meet would be i think 4 weeks from the last one so 31st of this month would be the next one, where i havnt a clue will need to sort it out nearer the time

if its turbo again then its 1 of 3 things:

Shit turbo builders
Bad oil supply Pipe/Pump Worn
Oil Contamination/Overfueling causing oil to run thin and wear bearings and turbo bearings.

Heavy breathing from flame trap could be rings or blocked pipe

when u changed turbo did you clean out the intercooler and pipes??

only one drop of oil into the intake will cause a big puff out back when on boost!!

Check the thottle elbow if a 2wd one for oil in there,if there is u will need to strip all the intake and clean that aswell

Also to add when your turbo first went was it leaking oil from the compressor side front housing??

Also check theres no oil coming from this area into the cooler

the last turbo never had any oil problems, it seized

there wa sno oil traces in my pipes or intercooler, but i have a slight bit on the lip of the compressor hosuing when i take the air filter off thats it

pump is fine and i get 75psi of pressure cold and flat out

unsure on fuelling but the gauage i have says it isnt running rich, but its just rite

im on 2wd oil feed set up with a new pipe and new bailey filter, recommened by turbo supplier

i will take the inlet off and have a look this week see if theres anything in there

but its when i come to a stop and a cloud of blue smoke comes out which is the annoying part, as it comes across the front of teh car and people have windows down in there car they get the full smell of it

a compresion and cylinder leak test will give you an idea of whats going on but sounds like a turbo issue if you'v just replaced it, i hope it's not bad mate best of luck
