Default I want a towbar - Mondeo mk2 with st kit

Hi chaps,
Anyone know of any towbar places to try?
i've been looking through e bay and all the shops seem to list them for a mk2 hatch but they say not ST!!
Well, i haven't got an St but got the kit which makes the rear bumper quite a bit bigger, there must be somewhere that caters for them? Tow ball not important or the electrics as i can get these easily or i'll buy them if they come with the towbar, not fussed!
I'm in peterborough if it makes any difference?

Cheers, Gary

I have just modded an normal tow bar to fit my st200
the original tow bar came from A1 towbars I then got some 2" drop brackets made to bring it out in the lower hole that the st has.
I used a drop bracket in reverse to get the height back to original height
will get a pic for you m8

The reason some cars are not listed is because FORD do not list a towing weight etc, had this with me cossie.
They told me it would need uprated brakes and suspension to tow, whereas a std sierra they said was better, they obviously know what a cossie is!!
Most likely just playing it safe on thier part, ie liability etc.
It may well need the bumper slot cutting, have a measure with a std mondy about bumper depth etc.

Pics would be great if possible mate,
I don't really want to chop the bumper if i can help it, i'd rather come through the meshed area!

Yeah, the father in law has a mk2 with standard bumpers and a tow bar, it would come out just above the mesh and req the bumper chopping on mine!

Did you just drop the height of the ball down or the whole frame where it mounts to the body?

I have a ST200 which I had a standard MK2 Mondeo tow bar fitted to from new. It fits as you have already stated, a section of the mesh has to be removed to allow the end plate of tow bar to pass through and a small section of the bumper above it.

Mine really doesn't notice unless you look for it as it's masked by the tow ball cover and the twin electrics.
