Hi

I have a doubt, fit a new mongoose exhaust with 3.5" or 4" tailpipe on my Rst S2.
Some friends told me that 4" tailpipe will look "silly" and sound will make me headache.

I need advice, advantages and disadvantages, about sound and look...............

nah. 4" looks spot on imho.

my orion with 3.5" and my mate denis' RST with 4"

 

4 looks spot on but drones between 3/4 k but the 3.5 does to so you mayaswell have the 4

 

I have a 4inch on my series 2, it sounds nice but i dont think they sit right, they look slightly to big id go for a 3

I don´t want someone can call me a "boyracer", but also I don´t whant to put a small or ridiculous exhaust on my Rst S2.
I choose Mongoose because I´ve got a good price offer.
I never ear the sound of Mongoose 3.5" or 4" tailpipe fitted on a Rst.
How much is louder 4" than 3.5" tailpipe??

 

I would asume they are the same as they use the same box, just with different tailpipe, I may be wrong though

Won't make alot of difference tbh, the best thing to do if you want loud, remove the centre box and get it straight through, i did this on my 3 dr it was mental...

 

To be honest it might look big but it's not that loud a small exhaust looks too softy and the large one would look beefy plus all turbocharged cars run big exhaust pipes because they run better with them, go for it mate.

I recommend 3-3.5" tailpipe, i have 4" tailpipe and i think its bit too much boyracer look.. :/

I've got the 3.5 rolled out as to be honest would prefer the 3 inch.. hate the 4 it looks way to boy

If I wanted massive tail pipes, I would have brought a nova 1.3 sr

 

As said s/s exhaust straight through anyway. If you want a super loud one just get all the baffling removed. Even a 3" will be silly loud



For me...4" Baby!!

Not sure why but never seen 4" rolled out as a huge exhaust, still subtle on an Escort IMO.



3" or 3.5 if you wanted it remotely sleeper. Had 3" mongoose on this blue escort, literally only made noise at revs, kept a lot guessing.

 

i had a 4" outward rolled mongoose and the sounds is superb!

 

And i have to add that 4" outrolled 2.5 S/S mongoose is painfully loud..

Finally I´ve got a Mongoose 2.5" bore with 3.5" tailpipe.
Next week will fit it...........

my old 3.5 inch mongoose was louder than my current 4 inch magnex
i prefer the mongoose sound
anyone know if a mongoose backbox will fit a magnex system?

i have 3.5 and the ers's i have seen with 4inch look out of place but looking at some off the photos on here they look good.

 

Imo there is only one tailpipe for the erst and thats a 4" 3 inch is too small and 3.5 is just a waste of time 4 inch all the way!!!!!!!
