Default Tappets on S2 Rs Turbo

Ello Guys soz be Pain iam new at this but i just got new solid tappets for me rs but i bin told in the shop that i need a toool to take the old ones out or can it just be done by hand thanx

never heard of a tool to take them out like

a magnet maybe!

its callled a CVH spring tool or somthing ?

I think he means the spring compression tool used to "unlock" the valve springs to remove them.

No need for a special tool when taking the tappets out.

You know that you can't just take Hydraulics out and put Solids in, dont you?

Becuase you need a cam thats designed for use with solid tappets!

any old cam will just get chewed up!

As above, it needs to be a Solid profile cam. Also, they need to be matched. For example, Newmans Solids are matched to the material of their Cams. Using a Newman Solid follower on a Piper Solid profile Cam may not work either.
