Default Head bolts

Just a query...

I am doing the head gaskets in my 2.9 v6 Sierra, do i have to buy new head bolts when throwing it back together?

i would have thought if they torque up fine they will be ok...........i've re-used 4 of mine (6 long stud) twice now with no probs

Yep, it would make sense right enough, i was just hearing that on some cars you dont have to and others you do...

Anybody ideas on how much i'll be for a set of 16 from Ford?

replace them mate, i learnt that the hard way when doing the head gasket on my clio....i stripped it all down....easy.... came to put it back together and i am not kidding, i got to the last bolt started to tourq it and SNAP! had to take the rest of the bolts out, drill the snapped piece out and then re-tap a new thread for some NEW bolts.....i wont do that again, always buy new.

I reused mine on my HCS, says you can reuse em once.

it is advisable to change them while you can. most motor factors can tell you if they should be replaced, as well as autodata iirc?
