Default Cosworth 2wd distributor seal

Hi all, Think i have a leak on the distributor seal how difficult is it to change do i have to strip any of the inlet manifold or plenum to pull the distributor out.

With the distributor is it just a case of pull it out change the seal then slot it back in or does it need some sort of setting up in anyway.

Any help much appreciated.

easy fella,no need to touch any of the inlet manifold!remove cambelt cover, remove dizzy cap, rotor arm and the dust sheild, turn engine over by hand until all the timing marks are lined up!then paint a line on the dizzy and block, undo the 13mm bolt that holds it in(between dizzy and block!) pull out change seal refit!

Cheers for that but now i'm going to sound stupid, timing marks are on the top of the distributor i take it.

I do just about every on the car when something needs doing but timing, distributors and cam belts i dare not touch for fear of getting something wrong.

u dont touch the cambelt fella only turn it over to get everything lined up(as u will have to get the rotor arm lined up with the line in the dizzy housing!)

marks are below in this thread

Just don't forget as the dizzy goes back in the rotor will turn due to the screw, just make a not of where it is when it comes out and start from there or may need a few tries, but easy to do, put a bit of grease on the new seal and it will slide in/out easier if you need to relocate it a few times.
Whilst dizzy is out check your phase sensor wiring as the oe ones become brittle and fall to bits!!
