Timing up a Pug 106 Diesel engine
Dont rely on mr Haynes too much. he can be mis-leading! as long as you mark the camshaft and crank up so you put the belt back in the original position/or set them at top dead centre you cant go wrong really. remember to check your waterpump and timing belt tensioner/idler while your in there. easy to do while its in bits.
Easy if your a mechanic, tricky if your a chef.
good luck!

Haynes is fine on this car
You'll need a few drill bits (x2 6mm and x1 8mm iirc) to lock the cam, pump and crank.
Cam and pump are locked through the pulley.
Crank is locked via a hole in the block near the startermotor.
Hope that helps!
PS check your valve clearances as these engines strectch valves!

Cambelt went, so its a re-con head, and water pump while its easy to do.
Belt went at 60mph, snapped the camshaft. Belt was so weak you could tear it by hand, serves me right
Screwed the pully and the pump on the other end of the camshaft.
Cheers for the info guys! Think it was the crank one my mate was wondering about.
