best job youve ever had?
just wandered what was the best jobs other people have had and the worst too.
for me the best is my current job, i work in a builders merchants where you can arsey people but on the whole, customers are very nice and the banter is totally awsome.not only that but ive been off for a month since my car accident which broke my back.now i wasnt expecting to get any sick pay as it was my second day back after a few month doing something else.
fairplay they paid me my full wages and have told me to come back when im ready,no pressure.well all i can say is thanks so much to them for helping me and my family during this totally shit time.
as for my worst job,
working at prodrive motorsport totally sucked balls.never again!

lol @ damo
prodrive sucked because it was full snotty, toffee nosed boffs who thought the world revolved around them.i used to drive 50 miles a day to work there, get treated like a bin man then asked to work a weekend doing a stocktake for aston martin racing for nothing and nobody from amr was ganna help!

i worked in a really cool architects office up in bedale up in north yorkshire, the job was kinda like james herriot driving round old farms etc, but instead of poking cows i was measuring up lovely old buildings.
then the drawings we done were well smart, old castles, mansions, quaint little cottages etc. the other people that worked in the office were SO fucking funny, it could have been made into a sitcom. loads of funny characters in and out all the time (customers etc)
my current job is doing similar but for a rich old (nasty) scrote, but there is no characters here. it does have its moments though.

innit, sometimes i think its not the job itself, its the people you work with that make it for me.there aint many places where you can beat the hell outta your assistant manager, make jokes about his wife, fart in his motorbike helmet and trash his desk is there!

the job i'm in right now is definately the best,
I'm an installation engineer for Lista, manufacturers of workspace and storage solutions, i get to visit and work at all UK based F1 teams, as well as touring car teams, Prodrive, in fact most forms of motorsport teams use our kit.
As well as many manufacturing comapanies, Airbus, BAE, as well as loads of other people, customer range is huge.
got own van, decent pay, sure its bloody hard work sometimes and involves weeks away and hours stuck on motorways, but i enjoy it. beats being stuck in an office, lol
worst has to be being a trolley boy for sainsburys whilst at school. £1.98 an hour 13 years ago, lol

Best job was working in a cinema as a Projectionist. Got paid to sit on my arse most the time playing solitair or reading magazines/newspapers, then having to check all the films before they were shown to the public incase of sound or visual faults. Watched so many films in a empty 500 seater screen
Got paid to watch things like Terminator 3, Spiderman 2 and Matrix 3 twice each before official release
but downfall was watching Piglets Big Movie
Only left cause I was working till 3am almost every weekend and the other staff were doing a worst job than me (Putting on wrong films, putting in the wrong trailers, watching TV and putting films on late) but got paid £2 more per hour
Worst job had to be working for Sextons (Now brought out by Toad PLC) in the Head Office. I was in the service dept started off as a trainee, but didn't get showed anything. An admin position came up, so I took that. Then they decided I would be in charge of all the return stock (i.e. making up new boxes, ordering missing parts such as manuals, wiring, etc). I left after a few months and about 6mts-1yr later the dept shut cause no one carried on the work I was doing and it over run them, so they contracted it to another company

no complaints about my current job, it's got it's ups and downs but it's a nice job that i enjoy
best job though was working for airbus at the west ramp in heathrow
collect from airport, drop off to town, return from down, empty at airport
have a break
do the same again
finsih
home for the end of the day and then back again the next day for more of the same
working 7 days a week would clear me £600, but that was nothing compared to the tips we could earn
10 months working there saw me bank over £18k and not spend a penny of it because i was earning around £300 a week in tips
i literaly had cash money falling out of my pockets with not a lot to spend it on other than the car
had i realised it would be for such a short time i would have saved more of it, but i really did make hay while the sun shone
worst job was general idiot boy at a cash and carry
lasted a whole 2 and a half days before getting the sack for dropping a packet of curry powder on the boss, who was wearing a white suit at the time
and i earned a total of £16 for them hours that i worked, but seeing as it was my first official pay packet, i had to go and donate it to the local temple, as is customary in my religeon so it wasn't like i was handing over thuosands of pounds

my first job;
it was an apprentice mechanic at the local brewery's garage.large fleet of wagons, company cars(mainly cavalier sri's!) and fork trucks.i was there from 1986 until 1990 as an apprentice then got kept on.great job, very good pay and benefits, free beer tokens every 3 months to spend in the shop.good blokes there where i learned a lot.
the company got bought out in 1993 and they were streamlining every part of the brewery, redundancies etc.they were offering good money (at the time i would have got about 15k).but typically of me i stupidly got involved in a fight in town one night and made a mess of a group of lads who were looking for trouble.this ended up in me getting jailed for violent disorder and losing any chance of redundancy-what an idiot i was............lost job and got paid off with £500.
good times while i was there though..........its a tesco supermarket now!
