Any decent clutchs out there that are ok for 400bhp? changing my gearbox might aswell do the clutch aswell

I will have a 400 bhp clutch little used for sale in a couple of weeks, I'm converting to t3.

 

You don't say what car but I'm guessing cossie. I have an alcon 6 paddle in mine which doesn't seem that heavy really and is coping with 350bhp just fine. Not sure how they compare to an ap one though

Just done the diy reyland hyd clutch conversion on my saph, really nice bit of kit and fairly easy to install

Well worth it imo, ive not driven the car yet but the pedal does feel so much smoother and lighter.

If its in good nick, you don't drive like a cunt and launch it etc you shouuld be fine

 

i read that some where that a std clutch would be fine on a 2wd. would that be a OE ford kit.

I bought an OMP Group N friction plate and used the standard cover on my previous cossie with stage 3 and it was spot on in traffic and gripped like a bastard. Never slipped once no matter how hard or how many launches I did

Stage 3 mate, 330 ish. Was a good clutch and had no issues in traffic with it either

The place I got mine no longer sells them, not sure where to get them from now.

 

ours was around 430bhp and we had an omp 6 paddle, never slipped at all was spot on

and i could drive it quite easily once i got used to it!

Standard OE clutch will slip with stage 1 power if it has a boost spike in the mid-range .

Pop's (Charlie) was fine for years with 330bhp

Also bud-weis is his old old white saff had 380bhp and std clutch and it was fine

You can't compare cars that were fitted with the original AP Borg & Beck clutch to ones fitted with the shite ones that Ford now use you moron .

The OE AP one was good for 385bhp - the current one isn't worth a wank .

PS, you forgot to advise us to fit a new clutch cable and have the flywheel skimmed, Alcon 6 paddle is sometimes good and sometimes shit, depends on the day I think
