Default connect Freesat box to a Sky dish?

i see that satellite dish is required to have freesat.

i have an active sky package, could i also connect a freesat box to it, and keep my sky package intact?

its stupid that people are expected to have 2 decoder boxes under their TV, but i want the bloody ITV HD channel!

i have the quad LNB, is that OK for this purpose? i simply run another wire from it to the freesat box?

i might put the freesat box upstairs TBH and magic eye it to downstairs, so i can have some HD channels upstairs and not have silly amounts of boxes under the tv in the lounge.

I have an apartment that is prewired for sky, so in the living room I have to sky point connected to a central dish. Can I plug in a freesat box into these points?

the info on the freesat HD boxes on the net is crap, so no idea if they have a LNB loop through? need to take a look at the back of one in a shop.

Tho ITV HD works on a fair few non freesat hd recievers with a lopp through, but no 7 day epg

yes another cable will do.

if the freesat hd box is upstairs, you'll need to run a long hdmi cable to your screen downstairs to view HD

You seem very knowledgeable on the subject, could you answer my question?

Nick.

Thanks, thats great. Trying to find info on these boxes is a nightmare. The brain drain at curry's looked at me like i'd asked him out on a date when I put the same question to him.

just to add ive got no experiance of freesat boxes.

but skys uses satellites at 28degrees East the same as freesat..

ive not got sky or freesat, but a free to air sat box that recieves 28E and gets me all the freesat channels + 100s of other crappy channels free on that satellite

Do argos do freesat?

If so buy a box from there, try it and you've got, 14 day no worries take it back job

my house has a Lexcom "home entertainment network" system using CAT7 cables and sockets. it can be used for sharing the Tv aerial, phones, broadband, pc-networking etc. and it can share AV equipment.

but, i dont know if it can share HDMI, i'll have to look into it.

IIRC - You can pass HDMI signals over CAT5. In theory, if you use homeplugs you should be able to pipe a HDMI signal anywhere in the house.

Was going to do this for the PS3 but bought a R5 GTT instead
