Default opinions please.....

Im undecided what to do...

I have a 133k mile 1996 RS2000 which is in need of a resto and im unsure if i should do it or not. Passenger side arch rusted and is fast dissapearing, both rear chassis legs need replacing, a few rust spots through-out the car, burns oil past 5k revs, badly needs a respray, needs a new boot-lid and bonnet. Now i have known this car locally for a good few years, when one of my mates had it she was spotless and very very well kept. However, the guy who i bought it from hadnt washed or serviced it for months, but i saw potential in her. Despite all the problems i really enjoy driving her and she pulls like a train. I have a mk3 escort cabriolet which i restored last year, just doing a few final jobs on her this year, but i dont like the idea of 2 money pits. The way i think is that £2.5k + would get me another RS2000 in very good condition, but then again i have one now and £2.5k would mint mine anyway. Also the fact i would get it all done alot cheaper because i know alot of guys in the trade.

The main problem would be the bodywork and the oil burning issue. Bonnet and bootlid could come from any escort.

Also what would i do with the one i have now if i bought a new one? Cant be worth bugger all and i cant be arsed to break it up. The plate is worth abit but thats about it.

What would you guys do??

but i would go over buying another one anyway.....

I priced it up the other day, £1500 would get me sorted with everything via mates rates.....

apart from the oil burning issue, valve stem oil seals or rings. If its rings i can prob get a 2nd hand I4 for about £300...
