Exclamation (Screamer pipe) F.A.O Christian

Thinking of getting the turbo elbow spilt into two chambers.

One for normal exhaust gas and seperate for the wastegate.

I think christian had one, just wanted to know how to approch it. I have a machinist down the road and he is capable of pretty much anything.

Cheers

Christan has an external waste gate I believe, don't think he lashed it together.

I did several years ago try a system where I made an exhaust which divided the turbine from the wastegate, using an internally 'gated turbo. I ran a screamer pipe, which was neat for about 5 minutes, then just became annoying. It was infact a Pulsar turbo.

In reality there is a technical reason why this is a bad idea on an RST, but I won't bore you with that.

It's really hard to explain, but when you have the wastgate flap openging horizontally, but the flow passing through it vertically, as it does on an RST, then you divide the wastegate, the flow will be restricted and you get boost creep. It's SO much easier to explain face-to-face!! LOL.

Basically, the wastegate only opens a small amount and it needs all the room it can get inside the turbine housing and by dividing the wastegate from the turbine housing, you restrict the room it has to flow.

Complicated eh?

ok, first and only reason is the noise!
I'm running a bar of boost, mate of mine has one on his skyline gtst. It sounds awesome.
I dont wanna use external gate as its far past my needs, so really just want it to sound mental!
Childish... Yes. But i dont care.
Christian, do you have any photos or the actual elbow still?
Cheers for the info on the boost creep, i didn't realise it would have a negative affect.
Cheers.
