M-Sport were doing tyre testing @ Kames with Miko Hirvonen, yesterday and today!

If you do a search on YOUTUBE for Kames and Hirvonoen you will find a couple of good video's

The telemetry was showing that he was getting over 100 mph in bits at Kames!

WTF?!

why would they use Kames for testing Darren?

I was off today and yesterday too!

 

They would fit the new tyres,

He would leave Kames and do about 15 minutes of road miles (simulating driving from service to stage),

Come back and do 15 mins non-stop around Kames (simulated Tarmac stage length),

Go back out and do another 15mins road miles,

Then come back in and scream it around Kamesz for another 15 mins!

At every point before and after each test they would take tyre pressures and temperatures!

I never knew tyres could get that hot until I touched the tyres as they were removed from the car!

i stay 2 mins from kames,

when the lorries went past they starting the were pushing there air horns, the escos was in the drive

 

would have been good to have seen all that!

 

would have been awesome.

 

Mirko Hirvonen is quick & steady...........

But Jari-Mati Latvala is differant gravy, and a future world champ'

But I'm sensing you may not fully agree with me

Although far more reckless, and behind Hirvonen in the Championship, still think JM Latvala is the most exciting WRC driver, and has shown unmatched glimpses of pace/flair/aggression etc on certain stages this year.

Think JML will be rally's biggest star in the future, break the Loeb/Citroen dominance, become a multiple World Champ' and may well become the 'Valentino Rossi' of WRC.

Thats a good bit of endorsement for Kames. Was up there for the very first time just a couple of weeks ago despite only staying in Ayr - great wee track IMO.

 

I hate the Focus World car, it's just plain ugly. It looks soooo much better as a white car & shows it shape off more.
