i have a 89 series 2 rs turbo and its not boosting up properly i took it to get set up and the bloke said he done his best but it still wasn't right. it pulls ok 1st and 2nd but 3rd don't really have alot there he thinks it could be the fuel metering unit which i take is that black box looks like an ecu? anyone help me out

 

no mate, the metering unit is the big part the air filter bolts on to.
it mesures the amount of air going in and pumps threw the right amount of fuel.
have heard of quite a few of these going wrong though.

 

I'd take it to a specialist..

 

take it to a specialist like jamsport in northampton mate.jamie knows wot hes talking about.if u need a new metering unit ive got a spare one for sale
