been looking and it seems that you can get these with a full width touchscreen and dvd playability on them
are they worth it or not?
are they worth it or not?
My mate has a Pioneer AVIC-D3 ( i think its that one? )
built in sat nav
ipod interface, basically gives himan onscreen touch jog dial
built in bluetooth handsfree
and im sure it had a 30gb hdd in it
dvd & vcd playback aswell
reversing camera input
as to is it worth it, ive got a single din pioneer 6.5" , never use the dvd player part, rarely use the touch screen to do / change stuff, ocasionally watch tv on it, when waiting around.
reversing cam picture could be handy tho

Worth what?
Ł50 and sticking one in an empty double din sized hole in a Toyota? Yes.
Ł200 and cutting holes in the dash of an old Ford to make it fit? Probably not.
I've got 3 Alpine screens in my car [1 in the dash and 2 in the headrests] and used them on journeys possibly twice [not including the novelty factor sat watching porn whilst parked up dogging somewhere]. Once with a mate watching Condor Man as we sat in a traffic jam on the M25 and once on a journey with my nephew in the back. He vegitated for 15 minutes watching High School musical, wouldn't say a word so he got a bollocking and they've not been switched on since.
Total waste of time IMHO even for kids in the back. If people's children can't stay well behaved enough for a car journey without sitting and watching a DVD, there's bigger issues.

i was thinking more along the lines of a double din unit for the mondeo that will have satnav cababilities
at least there won't be a tomtom stuck in the window to distract me and if i can use the tomtom sd card in the head unit even better
with that in mind, i might put the tomtom onto ebay to make some moreny back
