Default ebay feedback ffs!

you can no longer leave a buyer negative feedback? is this some sort of joke? so someone who takes 2 weeks to pay cant even be left a neutral either, its getting beyond a joke, fair enough i see that retaliatory ( is that a word lol ) feedback is not fair, but if a buyer GENUINELY messes you about its tough you cant do anything about it

No negative or neutral Feedback for buyers
The previous system prevented buyers from leaving honest Feedback since they feared retaliation from the sellers if they left a negative. This made it harder for buyers to distinguish between sellers while making bidding or buying decisions. In addition, when buyers received negative Feedback, they reduced their activity in the marketplace, which in-turn harmed sellers"

grrrrrrrrrrrrr

i see their reasoning but buyers who mess about no end, take weeks to pay then complain when their item isnt sent before payment clears.... like my last customer, i can only leave a positive?
i wouldnt have dealt with them again and surely its my right to be able to warn others?

bloody joke

What about a 'ebay warning' thread? Seeing as there's more & more ford parts bought and sold nowadays?

You still get the little box to write a comment in though don't you? Could type in there that payment was late etc. You can also add that under the feedback she has left you.

There's people out there who don't bother anyway even if the transaction has gone smooth and quickly. There's no way to warn of bad payers/ sellers.

ive done that on both her feedback and the one she left for me.

Its ludicrous, the fact that someone could have 100% feedback when realistically they could be a really bad buyer and not complete transactions quickly etc, how does that give you faith in selling someone something?

im starting to get very annoyed with ebay, dont think ill be advertising much at all now on there

ive noticed a massive hike in my ebay fees recently, that and the fact paypal will HAVE to be offered on all auctions means theyre raking it in.

Definitely needs a good competitor

To be honest i dont see what it matters with buyers that have bad feedback. You cant do anything about it if they bid on your item at the last minute or something anyway so it dont matter what feedback they have. (and youll find that most bad ebayers bid at the last minute too so you cant cancel their bid). Also, many bad buyers will have another account to sell stuff anyway.

you cant do a lot about it no, but its nice to know what sort of person you are selling to or potentially selling to, as if someone has 100% feedback due to this new system yet theyve not paid for every transaction in the past month you will be none the wiser as there will be no feedback to say this.

Seems like a stupid idea in my eyes

thatll be cos youve bought loads of stuff from same seller as theyve started giving you 1 per item bought instead of 1 for same seller

Feedback rating also based on the past year instead of it being the full amount of feedback received.

Yeah i see your point. Does seem a bit stupid. Obviously good for sellers though as they wont get negatives for no reason. I think most sellers are scared to give buyers bad feedback anyway so i reckon theres loads of bad ebayers that still have their 100% due to sellers that dont wont retaliation negatives.

i have to say ive never been bothered about leaving a negative,if you get one back just respond to it saying retaliatory feedback.

I think people who know they can leave a negative without getting one back may abuse the system as well though on the flipside.

Woman who left me feedback moaning today i couldnt leave her the neutral so had to follow up with a rant

That's a good idea! I've bought a few things which turn out to be crap and when you leave bad feedback they just do the same to get back at you. It also annoys me when you win and pay for an item straight away but they don't leave you feedback until you've left them feedback. They say it's so they know you got the item okay but that's a load of rubbish, it's so they can bully you into giving them a good feedback.

About time this was introduced. It should look out for the buyers more than the sellers. There's so many theiving, lieing, chancers on there.

i can see why it would anger people who sell vast amounts of stuff as it means theyre not going to be able to do a thing about bad buyers!

i just think its another part of ebay being all about the buyer and less about the seller

paypal offers very little in the way of seller protection without ebay joining in and not reassuring sellers at all.

this is exactly what is going to happen, people will take the piss with their feedback knowing it wont come back to them.
