You should see the state of the place, it's completely fucked. There was an ambulance outside my apartment block last night, and a police helicopter shining its light everywhere then seemed to stay on my terrace for a while 
This was only the minority, I was with a big a crowd in Albert Square watching it on the large screens and there was no trouble and a very good night.
I think what caused the trouble in Picaddilly gardens was the fact the big screen wasn't working and the police were not letting people out to get to the other places where the screens were, they even put up another screen near the stadium but again they blocked the road and wouldn't let people to the screen.
This is only what I have heard and IMO

Similar thing happened when Rangers Played Shelbourne at Prenton Park years ago, The bar I was working in got torn up, all the local pubs got smashed up and even a police horse got trampled. God knows how many people were hurt/injured.
Rangers (and many other clubs most likley) need to get a grip of their minority of dickhead fans who are giving their club a bad name.

WTF, dont lump us all in the one mate. Celtic and Scotland both take absolutely massive travelling support everywhere and are renowned for their good conduct. Rangers are a different kettle of fish! They act like your yobs and throw the toys out the pram if it dont go their way, as was illustrated.

A lot of first hand reports I've read and heard about concur with the following, taken from Sky on the link above.
as a mancunian i am discraced with the greater manchester police . i have to dissagree with the comments about the rangers fans , i was in the thick of it yesterday to enjoy the football and festivities that were on , yer some fans may have got rowdy with the screen not being on but what i saw after the game was a disscrace . i was walking through manchester after the game , yes rangers had just lost but they were all still happy and singing , and for no reason some riot vans pulled up in the crowds , the riot police got out and started walking through the crowds pushing and hitting any fans that got in there way , there was no need for them to be there . yes the rangers fans reacted naturally and retalliated but if they had not been there , it wouldnt have happend , there was no trouble or reason for the riot police to be there . i was discusted with the way the police reacted and i thought the rangers fans were great

I am in no way condoning what they did, and yes the rangers fans that caused trouble are a disgrace, but not all Scotish fooball fans are like that.
Its just like saying all English folk are morris dancers,or football hooligans.
And i am definately not a Rangers fan either.

I was in my town last night and it was FULL of drunken twats, tops off, singing, chanting and just acting like complete fannys. Even when I left my work tonight there was a guy shouting and singing rangers songs, acting like a complete lunatic.
I so ashamed that people are associating those hooligans with scottish people in general.
