this being PASSION ford i put a post up about me buying a lovely 3 door cossie back that i used to own and regretted selling.i was quite giddy about it as i said i wouldnt buy another cossie for myself,but i just had to with this!

i put a couple of pics up and some spec so people could see how nice it was.i also made a tongue in cheek remark about it may end up being sold(everyone who knows me knows i dont keep things long!).but i also said that i want to keep it so it was no way a for sale thread it was just a "look at what ive bought" thread.even though i am an ex trader on here i am still passionate about cars-including cossies.......im sure most people understand that.


the post was removed by a mod so i asked why on another post only to be told some traders had complained as it was seen as a for sale post and that was why it had been removed.

when i just questioned this stating it was PASSION ford and i am still passionate about fords and was just showing people my new car with no intention of selling it-that post now seems to have disappeared.

as a gold member of passion ford am i allowed to show people my new ford?,or because im an ex trader who hasnt renewed,am i not even allowed to do that either.

i just think it was a bit of a jobsworth thing to do.a pm could have done the trick telling me to change the wording,or left it on and changed the wording for me.....it was not a for sale post.im not that sneaky!
surely if i had intended to advertise it-a post along the lines of "im selling this for a mate" could easily have appeared from a friend...

i was quite happy about buying my old cossie back and couldnt wait to show it off-wish i hadnt now as this has left a bit of a bitter taste.....

Even though I haven't seen the thread I do feel that it was unfair to remove your thread jay if it was only to show your car as you said it was. The mod who removed it should explain himself as to why it was removed.

they always say " we have had complaints from a trader " that means they havent got the balls to just say why they realy moved it

why would any trader complain about it ( even if it was an advert ) not saying it was ,
I feel this is one reason some PF users have an axe to grind with traders as they are used every time as an excuse why posts are moved etc when realy no trader has moaned at all

 

goldmember or not I would have thought you have the right to post a picture of a new car you have bought especially a ford, didnt see the post so could not comment on whether it had any for sale type content.

 

yes i am-the post was only a "look at what i have just bought" one.i have no intentions of selling the car.i am still a petrolhead and am buzzing about buying this car and just wanted to share it with other ford petrolheads.
i am and have been a member of passion ford for a long time and cant show people my new ford?

it seems that once you have been a trader on here,then decide not to renew you become an outcast who cant share his passion for fords without being deemed as trying to sell it on here.
surely if i was selling it it would also be on ebay,anotherfordforum,cheshire rsoc site,rsoc site,pistonheads etc etc.it is not advertised because it is not for sale.

 

watch your restoration post mate-you may be putting all that time and effort into it just to sell it on...........

i agree with what you have said above paul about "the balls".

as i have already said,if i was advertising it it would have appeared under one of (my few,it seems)friends ads saying "for sale for a friend"easy as that!

i can honestly understand mods keeping an eye on ex-traders for attempted selling activities,but this one has been mis interpreted and thats why im not happy about it.

i was told i cant sell anything,not even a gold members allowance-no problem i understand that and dont intend to break the rules.im still an active member of passion ford and intend to stay that way

chip,apparently its the rules that because i am a trader and have been trading on here that i now cannot advertise any cars or parts for sale as it would be seen as me being a trader who hasnt paid,which would upset paid up traders.

when i decided not to renew my trade status i asked wether i could advertise some parts i had knocking about that i had collected over the years for different fords and was told i couldnt.

personally,i thought that as i was a gold member i would have been allowed maybe a couple of cars and a couple of parts adverts just so long as i didnt take the piss.......but i cant.
