Default 2wd cossie not sparking on no3 ht lead

my mate who has no internet has asked to find out why is car would not be running on no 3 cylinder.

when it was last parked up it was fine with no probs, now when u start it shes missfires and runs on 3 cylinders.

he said hes taken the plug out attatched it to lead and it sparks fine.

car will start but run on 3 cylinders.

would this be possible if the rotor arm was damaged or cap? or highly unlikely?

cheers

change the lead on no.3, could be breaking down under load.... Or fit a new set of leads...lol

go through the motions mate, new cap, arm, plugs and check phase sensor if you know the leads are ok.

had aa out and they have tested his injector plugs. he goes that no1 no2 and no4 are all pulsing with some bulb test they done for power.

no 3 has no power when u earth the black wire that runs to the injector plug the light stays on constantly.

AA man says no 3 injector plug has a broken wire and is not getting power properly as it should be pulsing.

does anyone know where the injector plugs wires run off to.

He has recommended getting autoeclectrician to replace the wiring for that injector plug right back to where it starts from.

where would it start from as he has no haynes manual.

cheers peeps

for the injector wiring mate, check where the loom goes through the bulk head, very common for them to rub through there.
