Default Current idle valve

IN the proces of efi'ing my ZVH Turbo i'm coming across a problem again.
When i open the throttle a little it idles nice at 900 rpm but when i take my foot off the paddle the engine stalls.
Seems the f-idle valve isn't opening at all.

What's the curren't needed to operate the valve and what hertz is it normally running on?
Running an idle valve from an xr2i and megasquirt ecu.

Thanks all

what algorith are u running? PWM or on/off? If it's PWM, has the ECU been modded with the proper TIP transistor?

That's a quick reply :P

It's running pwm.
Should be build for that ( didn't assemble it myself )
Gonna check it tomorrow.... otherwise it should do something B&G on/off i guess?

It won't work, as the idle valve is PWM, not on/off. An idle valve off an Escort turbo would workl well if u have on/off. With your valve, you need to set it to PWM, but the std output transistor is not poweful enough to do PWM, it needs changing..

Ok then,

I'll have to wait what the builder of the ms has to say and if not i'll have to put the tip transistor in myself...

Thanks sofar

well just received mail from the builder and according to him i can only drive a on/off valve...

From what ford can i get such a valve.
Want to drive the pwm valve later but have to order the tip 122 first.
Gonna put on a on/off valve for the time being.

if u have already connected it to your PWM valve, there is a very good chance that the output transistor is blown now, so it won't even work with on/off... Do you know anyone that can solder?

You need to run the idle valve off a relay. Ms doesn't have a powerful enough output to work the valve direct. just use the f idle wire to get the relay to click and send full battery power thru it, fused of course.
Stick a fat load of ign advance in at 500rpm to "catch" the revs if it drops while you're fiddling with it.

Just replace the transistor with a more suitable one and drive the efi valve with PWM control. Miles better than any on/off system.

I've fitted a tip 132 transistor to it and it seems to be working.

Already changed the transistor so no need for a relay now.

As said, i fitted a tip 132 transistor wich should work fine controlling the pwm valve now, thanks all
