My battery has finally given up completely so its time for a new one.

Any suggestions on which type to go for and what rating it has to be etc.

Cheers.

an 097 will be more than sufficient..

If you want a Ford one, you will pay Ł130, exide are Ł70.

or any 097 from your local motor spares should be about Ł50 - Ł60, but as long as you get the sufficient ampage, then should matter which battery you go for m8.

the correct battery for an escos is an 097 which is 60 / 70am amp obviously 70amp being dearer... but 60 amp is more than enough.

the ford one i got quoted for is 70amp.

Just popped into my local spares shop for an 097 and they said it'll be Ł50 but its round post, but comes with adapters to make it square post???

The other place said they cant get one till next week now, but thats a proper square post and is Ł60.

Never heard of that before, any problems with this or should i just get just get a proper square post?

Ended up finding somewhere with a proper one with the proper terminals. Seems like a bit of a bodge to me messing around converting the terminals.

So im back in action again!

Thats what Exide said to me, they do not stock the 097 with Tab terminals and they give you the adaptor thing to convert it from round posts... I was unsure about that.

But i would like to convert to round post if its at all possible, it looks alot neater.

Its just the Fuses that i could see being a problem?

"FORD" type square posts went out in the mid 90's, very few battery mnakers are making this ever decreasingly asked for battery now.

How are ever decrasinglyasked for battery.... Id say over 50% of the cars on the road have flat post terminal tye batteries.

Unfotunatly for us, its a little harder to convert to round post because of the fuses that connect straight to the terminal.
