Default Multi Plugs on the Inner Wing behind the headlight.....

Been told by a lot people to do away with these plugs. There is probably about 30 odd wires on them and have been told to hard wire them.

What have you lot done?

Any pics would be great

Cheers Mark

if you mean the engine loom plugs i have done away with mine as they where causing running issues. just solder them and heat shrink the individual wires then wrap the whole lot in insulation tape to make it look like the rest of the loom.

thats the only thing you really can do other than replace the entire engine loom with a new aftermarket item.

When i 1st bought the escos, i had a friend come round and cut the multi plug out, we did one by one, they are colour coded, BUT.... they dont all match up, some are different colours each side of the plug.

He solderered them, then put shrink wrap, then bound the lot together.

I had a couple of running probs aswell.

It seem stupid they put the plugs right under the open bonnet vent, handy when it rains

When we pulled them apart they had wet in them .

No sorry, once it's done it just looks like a thick black wire, I then neatened mine up with some cable tidy stuff and tape, it actually looks quite factory

If you do it cut each wire until corrosion is gone this could be as far as the ecu or sensors.

I pulled mine apart, cleaned em up and then wrapped the connectors in Denzo tape and then insulation tape. No probs now.

I tried cutting mine out only to find to water had crept along cables as far as bulkhead.
Ended up cutting all of the engine control wires out of the loom( rewrapping it) , then added a pectel loom instead , had no running issues since.
