I need to exchange some of my brake lines and went down to the lokal dealer "not ford".
They said that there where no problems to arrange this but they wanted to know if i had ABL or ABS on my ford.
How do i check this? The car is a Ford Escort RS Turbo -87.
ABL was apparently an early ABS system from ford.

There was only one ABS system available for Escorts at that time. Picks up its signal from two rubber belts that are driven by the driveshafts.

Never heard the term ABL before.
