Hello,
I'm new here, I've got a question.
I'd like to install a turbocharger onto my Mk4cabrio(it was 90bhp 1,6l 8v).
Why not to put a RS2000 engine in it? Easy answer.. I've already spent so much on engine in this I just want to continue with working on it.
I've already bought sport camshaft(1st in Poland for this engine), I've prepared header(hope that it's right word in english), made new exhaust system(with part from RS2000).
I thought about installing a turbine to it, I asked some ppl about turbo from 1.9TDI(VW) but some told me, that It would get killed easily in this engine(too high revs for it) so I'm going to sell the turbo and buy another one.
And here is the question.. : what to buy?
I don't want to change anything more in engine on this stage, maybe in future, but not now..
What turbo to search for(from which car?) What pressure would be safe for almost stock engine?(in Bar's please dunno how much psi is 1bar)


And last question, does anyone did it by himself here?

to be honest with you, its just not worth it.
to be able to turbo your xr3i cvh SAFELY you will have to change the pistons for a start for rs turbo items or better, and that alone would be more to buy new than a 2nd hand rs turbo engine.
you would be best off just buying a FRST engine with loom and ecu.
