i have a 1998 escort si, i wanna put the rs2000 engine into it, there is one on ebay at the min with everything i need but the engine is from a k reg escort, will it fit into mine......?

yes it will fit, id advise taking the gearbox and mounts from the 2k aswell though.
basically take your engine and box out, then put in rs2k lot, you need the gearbox mounts as they are different the 2k has 3 instead of just two, or its got 4 instead of 3, cant remember which though! you could take the fusebox and put that in aswell but to be honest its only a few earth and some lives that need to be hooked up on the mk5 pre pats ecu (that is if it is pre pats) so id just use a seperate mini fuse box to run it.
but once again id preferably take the suspension off it aswell as its stiffer than the zetec stuff. oh and make sure you take the 4 branch manifold from the 2k as your zetec one will not fit. any more questions just give us a shout mate

 

cheers m8, i found out it has the Bigger box on it... is tht gd or bad thing lol. i went to santa pod today ragged the hell out of my motor and managed to beat a 1.6 nova. this engine and gear box comes wiv drive shafts, ecu and wiring and all ancill like starter, header tank and rad! wiv this can i plug and play or im i gunna hav to find a sub frame... or do u no of any links to places where i can this gear box mountings???? many thanks m8

 

ive been led to believe that you can run without the extra gearbox mount but personally i wouldnt recommend it as its a bit yeehaa when there is no need.
you will need to aquire some rs2k hubs aswell (so sorry for not saying this before i comlpeatly forgot. if your gagging to get running you can just run the 2k on the zetec box but you might kill it after a while. im using a diesel box from a mk4 and it hasnt broke yet......it has only been a month or so though that ive been up and running though, but then im in the motor trade and when it does go bang it will only take me a morning to put another one in and they arent hard to come by.
by bigger box i have no idea what you mean im afriad though.

wots the engine spec if you dont mind me asking, just ive heard some rather contrasting veiws on the i4 engine in regards to how to squeeze some more power out and dont want to waste money!

 

densa plugs, K n N panel filter, Decat pipe fitted to a powerflow exhaust. A mate of mine has a totally standard RS2000 and she ran 160bhp! Tbh i havent even spent hardly anything on her, my mk3 takes centre stage at the minute.....


Might be getting rid of mine soon tbh, bodywork issues......
