piper or kent?obviously for power,wanna go sodding fast! can i get my std cam reground?any good?cheers all!

right as ive just brought a cam ive heard a few things! ....

kent has some issues at mo!...so quality wise go piper! piper t2 will bring the power up the rev range but will kick in later! piper 285 t,is a more toruqey cam!

kent cvh34 is ment to be the bollox really good profile(if its a good'un) kent cvh 35,36,37 are ment to be high reving cams!.....what other mods you got?

theres also another cam make you might not have heard of

Newman cam's they make a cam for the rst thats ment to go ballistic at 4.5k comes with solid lifters ,and ive heard is ment to rev to 7.5k!!

and the fourth option is give Karl norris a bell as he can make u a full cam kit for a real good price and only heard good things about them! www.norrismotorsport.co.uk or he is about on here a bit you might be able to get hold of him with pm or email!

what turbo you running? try putting a .48houseing on it that will make it breath better later on! and what intercooler you got as it may be getting hot in fith gear at 5k so ecu retards ignition!

 

right,the spec WILL be(as its just been bought by me and i got these bits coming) std turbo(no smoke)-31,pace cooler,stainless exhaust(unknown make,no centre section looks at least 3" straight thru)bayjoo unlimited boost ecu,bleed valve(so about 20 odd psi!!! i KNOW it may be silly but so far all this is only costing me 100 quid!) a pipercross induction kit,grp a coil(from my old cossie),champion c59cs(again from cossie),and ive rigged up a intercooler water spray(deodorant cap makes well nice spray pattern!) so thats it at the mo!havent got the pace cooler or -31 on it yet but the rest is there.think the actuator is weak also which could mean its not too hot at high rpm,its peaking at about 15 psi at the mo if i wind the bleed valve a long way! but usually 10 ish psi(dont have time to look!)

and as for running 20psi through ya pace.i do hope you got a good water spray!...but most importantly get an act gauge!

spec sounds good!

also go down an A road and full load it in 5th and see what ya boost gauge saying!...but make sure you get a r/r set up once everything on to make sure fueling and everything is good!

 

recommend newman cams got one in mine better than kent and piper

 

Had kent cvh35 in mine before went bang bit slow pulling away power kicks in late then revs pretty high(god i miss this )

they were on the same sort of profile as the piper 285t...more torqey based!

yep p.e no longer make thier cams and all there erst head work is now done by vulcan engineering

i got my cam thru AVA in glasgow
think the cam is just the same price as a piper or kent but you need solid lifters and double valve springs
