Also on the programme it talked about the introduction of 4wd, some guy was interviewed and told that when ford were developing the RS1700T (Mk3 Escort derived), their chief engineer at the time was invited to help with the Audi Quattro team at an event Ford weren't competing in, he said yes and went to the event.
When he returned to Ford HQ, he was asked by his bosses what the Quattro was like... He said its phenomenal, you need to stop with the 1700T, its nowhere near the audi.
Ant that was that, the end of the RS1700T!
