Default Any mountainbikers here????

What sort you into? Trail? Downhill?
What bikes does everyone have? pics!?

Thinking of getting into it properly this summer.

Anyone know where any decent downhill tracks are?

i've got a .243 racing DH, (the only one with a BMX bottom bracket in the country as far as i'm aware.) with 2002 boxxer world cups (black boxed by tim flooks), ariel industries hubs, chris king HS etc.
always rode a bit of everything ut mainly downhill, never liked full sus though so i stayed hard tail with big travel up front, the only full susser i ever got a 'feel' for was my mate top spec intense M1.

only ridden it maybe 15 times since i built it, first time out messing about on it i fell off the top of an 8 foot wall and broke both my arms!

its for sale actually

I mountain bike, I would love to do some mega mountains etc, but I have brittle bone so I have to stay calm, lol... I do love it though. Think it's great fun and as MadMack has said it does keep you fit.

I've always wanted to build my own mountain bike up from a frame, with all the custom parts I choose. I was going to give it a go last year because the advise I was given told me it was easy. Then I bottled it, I think I might give it a go this summer.

What would be the best frame to start with? Benni.

I bought my current one with back suspension because I have bad hips, so I guess I would want full suspension. I just like the idea of riding around on something I built. I doubt I would have the knowledge, skill and patience to build it myself. Atlough I'm told it's easy, I'm sure it's nit. Specialized are good, aren't they?

Benni.

I would have to do it over the summer, whilst I kept my current bikeGT I-Drive 5.0. and slowly bought more parts. Have you got some pictures of your bikes mate?

Cheers, Benni.

Rubbish!

i used to go to bones skatepark in stockport quite regular and showed up 90% of the BMXers on a 26" wheeled mega front travel Downhill bike!!!

I agree skateparks are great but its more challenging on a MAN's bike

About time time, your thinking about taking up a proper hobby/sport, none of this poncing about in gyms!

I bought this a couple of months ago;

Not in the same leauge as some of the above bikes, but is good fun and did not cost a lot.

I used to race DH years ago, then went out of it when my bike was nicked. I have just finished building a new bike though and absolutely loving it again! (Although it cost me a small fortune )
