it's a must in my view.

For a big power car on a clutch ratchet system exposes the adjustability, were as a hydraulic system takes care of it.

What oil do people use in a hydraulic clutch?

You will break cables , ratchets, pawls, pedals a lot more than any of the hydrulic components with an uprated clutch.....

I have a Reyland twin plate clutch with a centre push hydrualic conversion, fantastic bit of kit, well made, fit and forget, the kit is comprehensive and Martin and Tony were more than helpful when I came to fit it. Even with a twin plate clutch, it's just like a standard clutch

The only downsides are that you have to cut a hole in the bulkhead for the master cylinder, but who cares really apart from buftys, as the chances are it will never be removed anyway.

The second best mod on my car I recon after the brakes, thats how good it is, having suffered from years of heavy unrelible clutch cable systems, and I am sure Marco will tell you the same

gus if this helps i can supply a LARGE range of salve cylinders and master cylinders for you to dummy test, ive got a depot in colchester or ilford, you can take a few and what ones dont suit return them for a full refund

when i was thinking of going for a hydro clutch that was the part that stopped me, ifn that helps you out as theres loads of options out there, one will work and wont cost fuck all tbh apart from some head scratching ect

use a KA bottle too for the fluid and keep it seperate to the brakes, that way you can mount the bottle anywhere you like and not get the fluid hot

I just got Andy G to do this conversion to my car 2 weeks ago, must be one of the best mods i have done. Im running a AP 6 paddle with heavy AP cover and you could feel the cable stretch, and was always in the back of my mind when driving about town.

thats a quality price.sorry to bring this thread back to the top but looking at maybe getting a hydraulic clutch fitted and dont really want to drive car all the way to birmingham for it but andys aint that far.i take it that it didnt take that long to fit?
did you need to fit a new clutch at same time or did you just leave the one you already had in it?
think ill need to pm him for a price for it done to a 2wd sapph.

Something does not sound right there, it should feel slightly heavier than a std clutch! How much of the pedal travel does it take to disenguage the clutch?

Davie he said he would need the car for 2 days to be safe, the way it work out he had my car over the weekend but i was in no rush and he was busy with his car. I didnt fit a new clutch as my AP has only done 1500 miles, but he did fit a new release bearing for me. Took a few miles to get use to as the bite point is low but now there is a lot less slip when manouvering and it made it easyer on my dog box.

I fitted one to my dads xr4i(V8) using a Sherpa master cylinder and MGB slave cylinder, and made a few bits of bracket to go on pedal to hold master with remote reservoir, cost under Ł100 the lot, works perfect.
There is NO comparison between a cable and vastly better hydraulic.

Agreed! Ditch the cdv, Feels much nicer IMHO!!
Im not sure about yours but on the e36 m3 you can change to braded clutch lines, Yet again more feel to it!

Had a look at the braided lines option - only way to do it would be to plumb a line directly from the master to the slave cylinder due to BMW putting some farty non-standard fittings inbetween for the pipework

Having said that, I can do that when i fit the 6 speed gearbox I have
