Is Zymol better car wash than Autogylm?

That's called advertising. Autoglym give them their stuff to use for publicity
Paul Dalton, the best car detailer in the game uses Zymol and Swissvax. He wouldn't use Autoglym on his lawnmower
Nor would any other pukka detailer
Do you see Autoglym selling pots of wax for Ł10,000?

Can vouch for Swissvax, natural products in the main, without harsh chemicals, and delivers astounding results (especially if you're used to Autoglym and other 'marketing over quality' stuff).
As for the Ł10k pot of wax, not saying it's not good quality (as it contains high Carnuba content, and is highly regarded) but there's also a clever marketing angle to that also...
not many, but to pro detailers who charge upto Ł5000 for one "wash", it's just a tool of their trade
But for the rest of us who are not so obsessive, Zymol's Ł164 wax is 75% as good

There's an F430 Scuderia, just been given the full Zymol treatment ready for its launch at a dealer. The glaze used there was Zymol Royale
Full report and pics can be found on Detailing World if anyone's interested
and anyone into detailing, watch any of Miracle Detail's videos here:

and another video worth watching, a quick vid of a Focus RS having been waxed with Zymol Concours Glaze (only Ł164 and I'd recommend it as an investment to anyone):

watch the water running off the bonnet at the end

Sorry, gonna have to disagree slightly with this one.
Yes, the Zymol stuff is good, but unless used properly, it is just overpriced.
I attended a "detailing day" with another forum, and during the day we tried two different waxes on 2 halves of the same panel that had been prepared in the same process. This enabled a fair "bench" to work from.
First was the Zymol Concours (Ł165) and the other side was Poorboys Original Paste Wax (Ł13). Both products were applied by professionals following correct instructions.
@ the end of the application, both were tested for clarity, gloss and water repelling abilities. The Poorboys won all rounds hands-down. The Zymol Concours just smelt better.
Any wax or other cleaning product can perform, it is all about the preparation.
An example:
My Sierra built in 1992, original paint (cleaned using AutoGlym Super Resin Polish, AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection and finished with Bilt Hamber AutoBalm)

My Escort Cabriolet (clayed using Bilt Hamber Clay, coat of AutoGlym Extra Gloss Protection, then finished with Poorboys Original Paste Wax)

or it does sometimes come up cheap on ebay, but TBH elite car care have always come up good for me, and do next day delivery.
Yes, with pukka stuff you HAVE to use it properly to see what it's capable of and make it worth the money and the time
And the comment about the car washing itself for that price, well no that doesn't happen, lol, but if the wax is used properly, it makes general washing VERY easy and painless, and something you don't really have to do very often
Also, yes, you can make your car clean and shiny with "lesser" stuff, you can make your car clean and shiny with fairy liquid if you want to, but ultimately it's nowhere near as good!
You can do a hell of a lot better than popular brands like Autoglym if you know what you're doing, and without spending Zymol or Swissvax kind of money buy buying very good brands that not many people will have heard of. Like I can recommend just about anything from the following brands:
-Poorboys
-Chemical Guys
-Dodo Juice
-Sonus
But as also stated, you HAVE to use the right quality of cloths and materials with these products to get the best from them
It's just like anything else really, compare it to tuning. You can spend a small amount of cash to make your car go quicker, but the engine won't last as long. Spend a lot more and it will last forever
Sam principle, some people won't "get" why you spend so much time and money on it, others will

I use these fella's www.detailedobsession.co.uk if you use the RSOC BB there is a 'room' for detailing. The above company is run by Gareth aka Gaz. He is a very nice chap who does not mind daft detailing questions. They are quick to deliver and basically provide starter kits etc etc.
No, I do not work for em but have used em!
