Default Check your tyres guys

who didnt know its a penalty of £2500 fine and 3 penalty points PER TYRE thats under the limit?
Obviously i knew you wouldnt get off likely but £2500 and 3 points per tyre?

I was pissed off at needing 4 soon, but all of a sudden £220 for 4 tyres seems a bargain

Just a guess mate, but i think most places are around 50-59 quid per tyre for a decent make of my size.

You should check them thoroughly every week, along with your tire pressure.

I knew that as I drive.
Do you think that maximum is harsh then?

If your tyre is just slightly below the legal limit, yes.

If the tyre has to be completely shagged for the fine then no

As it's a maximum very unlikely if slightly below.
Although limit should be about 3mm, not 1.6mm, massive difference in the wet between the 2, so no excuse really going so low.

I think it's harsh in some respects but dont forget peeps you could quite easilly kill alot of people if your tyres fuck up

Just use the "I'm just on my way to get them changed officer!" excuse, works every time! Not that I ever let them get below 3mm, but severe wear due to bad tracking caused my goodyears to wear pretty quick!
