Default Track Preperation?

Im halfway through track preping my fiesta rs1800.

Ive fitted two Sparco Touring Carbonaro seats, removed the rears. Sorted the engine out etc

Im after a few more ideas for whats essential for track day. Bare inmind im still using it to get to work.

Im going to remove some bits on my dash that are not needed then flock it, how do i go about flocking?

ideas please

thanks matty

how long is your commute??! can lighten doors, remove metal from inner rear quarters, get poly-carb windows.......spare set of wheels for track days with some proper tyres is a good idea.

a work colleague is building a rally car and used Nextel paint instead of flocking as it's cheaper. it was Nasa comissioned for use on instrument panels in space shuttle so it's pretty darn matte

my treck to work can vary being a electricain, all i ment was it need to be road legal.

im ordering carbon doorcards to keep it neat rather than no door cards at all. Cutting out the glove box and other bits of the dash i dont need before i cover it. Have you got a picture of the nextel dash?

im also taking out the carpet but putting acoustic carpet down (stuff that you use on subs) to keep the noise at a reasonable leval, if it doesnt work ill just rip it out again for weight.

Also removing the headlining etc

Brakes and suspension, long before more power!

Brakes first, you wouldnt believe how hard it is on them.

Why not just use a Cossy or Focus RS set up? They would work well & you'll still have some change in your sky rocket

you can still chop out loads of sheet metal from the doors, remove the side impact bars, then add some strength back with a couple of bits of box section steel....

will see if i can get some pictures of the nextel dash.

ref: flocking - it needs to be carried out by a specialist as it involves firing electrostaticly charge fibres at the dash at high pressure.
