Default self-employed claiming travel allowance

from what i can gather the rates have not
changed for 5yrs ?
wtf when petrol has gone up so much?
any gen.

Count yourblessings - HMRC had been consulting on CUTTING these rates to discourage unnecessary mileage and encouraging use of smaller-engined cars.

That idea was parked ahead of the Budget, but don't be surpised to see it back on the agenda any time soon.
