Hi all

I was wondering if there are any experienced snap on mt2500 users out there that could help me regarding purchasing one.
I have been offered one which has 17 leads and adaptors and around 20 personality keys.
The thing i am not sure about is the cartridges as it only comes with one which is a 'PVCI 3 All preload Upgrade Cartridge' which alledgedly will read/reset fault codes on most cars with diagnostics port up to 2003? what i need is a cartridge to read/reset newer cars with eobd port and i am not sure what is the one to have???
Any recommendations on other cartridges,as i have seen a few advertised?
I need to read and reset fault codes,possibly air bags/service lights etc

The cartridge is updateable though dealer but if u havent been updated it will cost update is 400 +vat a time

 

U can get ethos at 900 +vat new updates r cheaper the same but faster just doesnt do functional tests hope this helps

 

cheap bits of kit now, i use the same setup, all preload upgrade, it does depend on when it was last upgraded, mines not to recent but i still get along fine, some of my caars on it only go to 2003 others 2005, but you have the eobd which means that with a can 1b lead you can read anything modern, infact to be honest i can read vertually anything.

the eobd should be on the menu of the cartidge you will not need to buy another one

ps if its a mt2500 with can1b and all keys etc dont pay any more than 550 ish unless its a real up top date cartridge

any other advice just ask or see here as i asked same questions when i wanted one
