Not the right forum but I ideally want an answer asap.

Lifted shamelessly from another forum i frequent:

Anybody have any ideas what this could be? It's worse at idle but increases pitch as revs increase, then stops at higher rpm's.

I'm thinking possibly water pump but im not sure?

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: It's on a mk5 fiesta zetec s.

 

Bumpety bump..

 

Some Zetecs are known to suffer with noisy water pumps,
try taking the alternator belt off and running it to see if the noise goes away.
