Mark Shead brought to my attention low friction coatings, like DLC.
Does anyone have any experience of these and what the costs are?
I'm thinking of doing something with a Camshaft.

These companies do the proper DLC and not the cheap stuff, I dont know the price but if it saves you cams then imagine how much you would have saved
. All the F1 teams and just about every proper race engine uses this stuff now days.

I once asked dlc coating to the pistons from one Finnish company called www.diarc.fi and they quoted me price of 60eur/piston, but that was more than one year ago.
