Default MP3 players/Kazaa/Audio help?

Hi, I've finally got Kazaa and Limewire on my computer and my audio library is coming on, If I get an i pod or simaler how easy is it to put the tunes onto it,can I plug them via an RCA cable into my home amp via the auxilary connection, how much do they cost and any recomendations as I've seen some little ones that can have 100 or so songs for about £80.Anyone else got one?oh, and how much are cd burners and do they work simaler?
Cheers, Andy

CD Burners about £20
iPod 15gb is about £199 (Thats what brother paid for his at John Lewis)
MP3 player, I gave about £100 for about 3 years ago for 192mb.

Dont know about connecting them to the home setup as I never tried.

Ipod connects directly to your computer via usb, and depending on your ipod sotrage size, will determinie how many mp3's you can get on it.

Easier way of playing tunes at home would be to store them on the pc and connect your output from the soundcard to a line in on a stereo.
My pc IS my stereo apart from amp and speakers!

The bit of kit in your pc that generates sound!
I would guess you have an "on board" on, meaning its built into(part of) the motherboard.
You can simply run get a cable with 3.5mm jack plug one end and RCA the other and connect between pc and amp. Job done!

I used to use the "Line out" 3.5mm jack on the back of the PC to plug into my minidisc recorder before I got a CD burner to record music from PC to disc...

You can get an MP3 player thing now for £99 that has 512mb!!!!! Heard the ad on radio today, can't remember who/what shop it was tho Thats typically 14 albums of music on a device the size of a packet of mints!!!!

Bascially you plug it in the USB of your PC and transfer the mp3 tunes from the hard drive to your MP3 player. Then listen via headphones.

Now I can't see why you can't hook that device into you home stereo using a twin RCA > single 3.5mm jack plug (into the headphone socket on the MP3 player)

Thats how my portable mindisc "walkman" is set up on my downstairs hifi and works fine like that.
