Whats is a std 4x4 saff weight?

...mine is fully stripped with just cage and lightweight seats, mag wheels which are very light, side exhaust which again very light compared to a full system.

get yourself on a diet, only have 1 litre of water in at any 1 time, the oil as minimal as possible, remove as much wiring as possible, chop your dash out apart from clocks

a lad round our way did this to his ibiza, its got so little wiring it doesnt even have indicators

pretty silly really but some people go to ridiculous lengths to lose a few lbs on the car.

i think its prob quite hard to get a lot of weight down, try getting fibreglass doors and perspex windows

a pukka multipoint weld in cage can weight up to 50kg's but you would take 3kgs of seating and sound deadening out when building so it will be late 1200kgs imo

my 3drs got polycarb rear screen, and rear quarter windows, fully stripped with all sound proofing removed, also i cut out the excess metal from the inner rear quarters and boot lid, stripped all wiring not needed, ie heated rear screen etc (was a 1.6gl model, so no ABS wiring etc), pair of bucket seats, only the upper part of the dash, and a 6-point bolt in cage.

its got a zetec turbo in now, but still using a cossy T5. dunno how much lighter the engine is tho lol

dunno how much it weighs, but i can push it around by myself lol

where did you get your poly carb windows from Dan?

Phil, a boot and bonnet will do wonders, lose electrics and glass if not needed.
Although this is academic if you are breaking your sapphire

Would also say 1275.
If u REALLY want to lighten it, replace doors bumpers etc with glassfiber parts instead, that will do the trick
