......engine!!!



Its going to get transplanted into my rather unsuspecting Renault 21 Turbo Quadra - should be interesting anyway!!

What gearbox is going to be used? Should be an interesting build

 

oh no! take 1 already unreliable car and throw in a potentially unreliable engine and this is gonna be a recipe for disaster

Cheers ppl......gearbox was originally going to the be original one attached using an adaptor plate but that was going to limit power to around 300bhp/ equivalent torque - which I dont want especially as the engine is specced to around 450bhp with the correct turbo. So I'm going to whack in a Cosworth T5 box and get a custom prop made up hopefully.

Chop...the black one mate behind the engine! LOL!

So did I mate....until I saw this & ideas started going round my head!

The blue one is still getting broken though to get the money together to do what I need to to convert the Quadra.

Clio's already far from standard as well - just bought throttle bodies, gripper diff, set of compomotives - and got to get standalone management & a paddle clutch for it! LOL!

Andy_R - I'm not listening to them mate....I think thats the problem!

Stu21T - yeh - defo finish this one - I dont think its actually alot of work tbh!

well it lasted fine last year on the old setup
will see how long it lasts now.
but i think i will be investing in a quaiffe box and diff this xmas.

 

Thats good - suppose it helps with it being in a lighter car aswell!! Do you know you can get an uprated primary shaft for it - company in the US do them - only $4200!!! LOL

 

i know 3 places over here that do them

 

so you have finally got a decent ish engine for it Lee, the times we have talked about it lol.

 

Dave.....yup I know mate - about time I put it into practice I thought!! I'm aiming to get it all mounted up this weekend - JCs got a gearbox casing & bellhousing I can borrow for the mockup. Hopefully there wont be many issues!! We'll see! LOL
