I thought i wood treat myself this week and bought a walbro pump for my fez, Fitted it no probs! turned the key but the car would start but after a couple of seconds it would stop try it again same thing and again and again so on!!! Thought it was the pump so i swopped it back to my old one and now it just turns and turns and turns i have removed the pipe from the injectors and there is fuel going to it! I have removed the lead to check for spark and it sparx, I have megasquirt fitted to the car and that is registering that it is working so i dont know what to do now!! A m8 had a cos pump fitted to his s2 (external pump)and he said that the bloke who fitted that changed the fuel pump relay! Do i have to change it? Is it that? HELP PLEASE has anyone had this problem before! IS IT JUST ME THAT EXPERIENCES A LOVE HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH RS'S!! I HATE IT WHEN IT GOES WRONG! (most of the time!) I LOVE IT WHEN IT SLAYS JAP CRAP!! (the rest of the time!) sorry finished wingein now help much appretiated!!

 

is the pump/s priming?

 

just check the relay its a small brown relay from memory pull the fuse box down and youl see the thick black red goin to it and the wire from your megasquirt should be a switched earth / thin brown goin into the relay will be something and nothing bud

 

yeah pumps priming I sturned it on and first time made a noise for like 2/3 minutes proper went on, now everytime i turn the key u can hear it prime but not run, checked relay all is good, and fuse too!! Bloody RS! Thanx anyway!!!

 

crank sensor? has it got a spark?

 

Yes i have checked for spark it is sparking, i have removed the fuel pipe from the injectors and there is fuel, the lights are registering from the megasquirt, it runs for like 5 seconds then as soon as ya put ya foot on accelerator to pick revs up it dies, so i dont put foot on and it still does it,i am thinking that maybe it could be the fuel pressure

 

i would be too mate! or a possible problem with the map sensor

 

cant get to the map sensor as its internal to the megasquirt i dont know if its that am going to take it to tuner and get him to sort it Thanx for the help tho much apprectiated!!!!!!!!!

 

no worries. i know its internal but you could look on your lappy to see what its doin.fitted quite a few megasquirts now. hope you get it sorted anyway.

problem does sound map sensor related, if its internal then there could be a fualt there
