Default My estimated BHP figure from data

Right from data that i am getting it equates that @ a held 1.7bar i am getting around 400BHP due to the amount of fuel its using and AFR and with the 2.2bar spike over 400ft lb Now the BHP would ring true as a std engine on 4 greys and this turbo dynoed at 430bhp...So i'd say dyno is 450 ish.
This is scientific BHP which i guees is fairly accurate if you match the data with many other cars.

Now.....with my internal componants i could hold 2bar no probs....so this is now going to equate to around 430bhp incar and dyno 470bhp...the thing to see here is the fact i have a BHP figure which is virtually the same as the torque......So at present certainly a 400/400 engine IF i changed cams i could get a higher than BHP torque figure..but hey thats just greedy

So the ultimate outcome i beleive will be a 430/430 engine incar and a 470/470 dyno figure...which in my opinion aint at all bad for a chimp with NO former mechanical/electrical etc etc experience....i have just patted my own back

Let the Rolling Road brigade commence the arguments! ROFL

I would say that you DEFINITELY have at least 400bhp, but I would be EXTREMELY surprised if you had any more than 370-380lb ft with the BD10s .

Bet if you switched to a BD14 inlet and a BD8 exhaust you would have a engine .

Before you put it on the rollers Phil - we can play "guess the torque".......IMO Mikes 370-380 ft LBS figure is a little optimistic.
I say 358-368 ft LBS

Get the damn car on the rollers soon - for your own sake!

Phil,

I was going to have BD10's when I upgraded my engine..... based on my torque figures i'm glad I didnt!!! But then to acheive that torque I did have the boost on max (2.35bar), which is not what I have for normal driving on the road (which is 2bar to keep the turbo happy).

I have no idea what the lift and duration on my cams are as they were Tony's own profiles that he was experimenting with between mine and Dereks car.

Mine having R2D1 cams and Dereks having R2D2 cams - I kid you not!

Above all get the thing on the dyno..... if you dont want to publish the figures (which I have a feeling you have already done on previous engines) than you dont have to, but at least you have an indication for your own mind.

My engine has full MAD engine dynoed at SCS six years ago with bd14 and spike boost of 2.4 bar it made 385 lb ft and 402 bhp so me thinks calculation is a bus ride out

Space hoppers i aint using a normal T34 this one has supersized comp wheel and T4 exhaust wheel on a .63 housing!.....bare in mind mine is also high comp for boost...which increases torque.

it may be highcomp, but youve said millions of times over that the ignition map is set very "safe" so the chances are that its not putting in enough advance to get any benefit from the high (well, still low, just not very low!) C/R

PS this data was from a very respected tuner on this board and judging from all conversions i done this feels the quickest so i guess if a std engine can dyno at 430bhp on 4 greys @ 1.7bar then this with a higher boost and spike and ported head cams etc etc regardless of a safer ignition curve it will still be around 430 real time in car....yes it could be tweaked to optimim but why bother...cossie engines are time bombs as it is....nothing wrong with having a bit more safety measures!

PMSL @ R2D2 cams

I think Phil is calculating his figures by using 'the Force'
