firstly, have you checked to see if you have any air leaks atall?

is it a BT model with the standard inlet?

yes it is bt all standard dont seem to have any air leaks but did notice that the vacum pipes from the tubo and actuator have been blocked with a screw am i right thinking this should go onto the amal valve on top of the intercooler

when you say blocked with a screw, are they not recieveing any form of vacuum control atall now then?

as for idle, on the underside of the inlet, just below where the inlet boost pipe connects to the throttle, you will find a small adjustment screw recessed into the throttle, this controls tickover, will need a reasonable sized screwdriver to twiddle the screw.

cant remember which way raises or lowers the tickover, but atleast you know where to start now

and obviously set the tickover point once the engine is warm

might be worth checking idle control valve on top of inlet manifold (just behind throttle) has a multi plug on it. take valve of check the two rubber seals are ok and clean it with some degreaser.

mines hunting like crazy, definatly a vacum prob cos when you pull pipe of inlet and put finger on hole , it idles perfect!?
