Not as a rule, but my company does occasionally do it. What do you need to know?

It's fookin donkey work. Just make sure if your drilling through first floor concrete that the core you drill out doesn't take out the false ceiling below. Seen that happen a few times recently.

Really looking forward to doing a "proper" job instead of wearing a shirt and tie etc

Funny you should say that,as the same job has a big fook off chandalier above the stairs.
