pre-turbo oil filters - good idea?
thinking about getting one for the 3dr for when its fired up for the first time
its on a fresh build so the rings etc need bedding in - so is it worth getting one?
will it block up with shit real quick, or wont the metal from the rings get near the turbo?
what are your thoughts peeps?

loads of posts about this before, if the normal oil filter is fine then it's fine
you have issues with flows etc as well
you can put a filter in afterwards as well but it's just needless bling really

cheers.
its obv got a brand new filter, and will have fresh oil, that will be changed after 50 or so miles as the rings should be bed in by then.
do they filter any better than the std filter then?

I would use one..... just check it after its been run for a few hours.
You dont know what may be lying in a dark deep pocket of that block or head, and your turbo will take the full front of any debris.
Its a tiny gause filter that will stop loads more crap than a standard oil filter

I would for what they cost compared to what a turbo would.
The mesh in the Bailey one is 30microns IIRC. You can also open them up to inspect the contents.
Just don't get one that screws into the turbo, they are prone to snapping off.
